APAICS Hosts 24th Annual Awards Gala Dinner

2018 18 May APAICS Hosts 24th Annual Awards Gala Dinner

We had a wonderful time celebrating last night at the APAICS 24th Annual Awards Gala Dinner. We were joined by 1,000 members of the APAICS family. We celebrated with local, state, and federal AAPI leaders; with alumni of our internship and fellowship programs; with our corporate and community partners; and with AAPIs running for office for the first time.

Our sincerest thanks to all of you for attending the gala and supporting the work that APAICS does. We can’t build the AAPI political pipeline without you.

Below, you’ll find some highlights. You can also see the buzz from last night on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram by searching for the hashtag #apaicsgala2018.

Here’s to another great Asian Prom!

The inspiring leaders of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) take the stage.

“We will never defeat hate with more hate. We can only defeat hate by rising above it – by responding to it with compassion, with respect, and with an appreciation of our shared humanity. Rather than tearing down those we dislike, we must use our energy to build something – something that we can all be proud of.”

Keynote Speaker: Attorney General Gurbir Grewal

“The fight for women’s rights, immigrant rights, civil rights & religious freedom are not separate battles. We have the power to make America whole & be the change we want in our country.”

“My message is, you belong here.”
“Know your ancestors, know your genealogy. So you can live in the past and you can live in the future.”

“In this country of ours where we see so much suffering and division, I want us to remember our fundamental role as citizens and human beings. We transform things when we’re pulled by love.”

Through the support of The Coca-Cola Company, we have been able to place four excellent young professional leaders in CAPAC member offices as part of our Fellowship Program.
