Kota Mizutani is a recent graduate of Brown University and summer intern at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Born to Japanese-natives and raised in Northern California, Kota identifies as both Japanese and American. After learning about the Japanese American redress movement at the age of 14, Kota became inspired to join the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL) and currently serves as the JACL’s National Youth/Student Council Chair. Kota has previously worked at the Korematsu Institute for Civil Rights Education, Congressman Jared Huffman’s office in Washington D.C., White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, and National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. He is also a former Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership (CAPAL) intern.
