Regional Leadership Academy | Houston, TX

OVERVIEW

The latest Census numbers help illustrate: the fastest-growing racial/ethnic group in the Houston region is the Asian population, with a 5.7 percent annual growth (Pew). Yet, there is still a need for representation when it comes to government. Now more than ever, engaging and connecting with the expanding community and political leaders in the Greater Houston Area is crucial.

The Regional Leadership Academy is a two-day leadership and training program to further develop leadership skills, promote public service, and support effective, impactful leaders in AAPI communities across the country. The program also allows APAICS to partner with local community leaders to discuss current issues affecting the AAPI community in the region, provide leadership training, and develop the growing network of past APAICS program participants. Both current AAPI leaders and those looking to run for public office will benefit from this practical leadership training. The program will emphasize vital skills regarding the development of a social media strategy, campaign fundraising, and locally-significant policy issues.

We encourage emerging AAPI leaders from the Greater Houston Area to join us.
