Regional Leadership Academy | Orange County

A new study shows that Orange County now has the third-largest Asian population in the nation, after Los Angeles and Santa Clara counties. Today, in a sprawling county of 3 million residents, there are nearly 600,000 Asian Americans.  Between 2000 and 2010, the AAPI population in Orange County increased by a dramatic 41%. Yet, there is still a need for representation when it comes to government. Now more than ever, engaging and connecting with the expanding community and political leaders in greater Orange County is crucial.

The Regional Leadership Academy is a two-day training program to further develop leadership skills, promote public service, and support effective, impactful leaders in AAPI communities across the country. The program also allows APAICS to partner with local community leaders to discuss current issues affecting the AAPI community in the region and to develop the growing network of past APAICS program participants. Both current AAPI leaders and those looking to run for public office will benefit from this practical training. The program will emphasize vital skills regarding the development of a social media strategy, campaign fundraising, and locally-significant policy issues. We encourage emerging AAPI leaders from Orange County and the surrounding area to join us.
