Byungzoon Kang

Summer 2017 Congressional Intern

Congressional Office

Congressman Al Green

Byungzoon Kang is from Queens, New York and is a rising sophomore at Macaulay Honors College. Through both academic and personal experiences, he has been fortunate enough to witness ordinary people use passion and commitment to fuel change in their communities. Upon understanding the importance of political empowerment and participation, Byungzoon sought to develop a deeper connection to his AAPI identity through APAICS. APAICS offered not only an opportunity to work on the Hill, but also a motivation to foster the AAPI voice in existing communities, institutions, and public policies. His expectations for the summer are pursuing meaningful work, meeting interesting folks, and exploring D.C. For fun, Byungzoon enjoys swimming, hiking or any physical activity whenever possible.

Meet the rest of the summer 2017 interns!
