Into the New Year with Clear Vision!
We hope that the new year is treating you well! As we take on 2020, we are thrilled to look back and see all that we’ve accomplished so far. We are even more thrilled to look forward to what is yet to come. The start of this new year will see the implementation and continuation of so many of our exciting programs including our next Regional Leadership Academy in Las Vegas, the onboarding of our 2020-2021 class of interns and fellows, and the celebration of our heritage at our Annual APAICS Awards Gala in the month of May.
We can’t wait to see what the new decade has in store!

DC Diaries: A Day in DC as an APAICS Fellow
Fellow: Ariel Higuchi
Member: Representative Ami Bera (CA-7)
On working on the Hill:
I’ve most enjoyed the speech writing, while I’ve learned the most from taking meetings. Years ago, I competed in speech and debate and was ranked in the top 40 original orators in the nation. I really enjoyed the process of writing and giving speeches but did not know at the time that some people actually wrote speeches as a profession. Consequently, it’s been fun to tap back into an old hobby.
