13 Questions with Justin Cohen
“I was raised in the AAPI community. Some of my fondest memories were the potlucks that I attended with my mom and the other members of the Filipino communities in places like Hawaii and Puerto Rico where I grew up. I feel strongly connected to that side of me and I’m grateful to my mother for making sure I was able to experience it.”

AAPI Candidate Pipeline
Our goal is to build a comprehensive database of all Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders who are running for office, however we are certain that we haven’t found everyone. If you know of an AAPI candidate that is missing from this list or whose information is incorrect, please contact us.
Up to 23 participants and two supervisors will be selected to participate in this year’s Kakehashi Program. The program is organized jointly by the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) and the Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE).
Selected participants will attend a nine-day trip to Japan in which they will visit a number of historical and educational sites, experience traditional and cultural activities, and participate in lectures and workshops. Each trip will visit Tokyo and one other city to be announced.
