WASHINGTON—APAICS is saddened by the news on the passing of Mitzi Pickard. Pickard served as APAICS’ program director from 1999-2001 where she focused on fundraising for the APAICS Annual Awards Gala Dinner and developing the organization’s programs. After her departure from APAICS, she continued to be part of the APAICS family by volunteering at the organization’s major events, including the APAICS Annual Awards Gala Dinner.
A leader in the Filipino American community, Pickard had a lifelong commitment to the AAPI community and nonprofit service. She was the major gifts officer for the Philippine American Foundation for Charities where she worked to raise the profile of Filipino Americans in the metropolitan Washington, DC area. Previously, she served as the assistant director for corporate relations and business development at the Asia Society and director for resource development at The Washington Center.
Our sincere thoughts go out to her family and loved ones.
