Welcoming the New Year

Happy New Year to our

APAICS community!

We're looking forward to every opportunity in 2023 to support, connect with, and celebrate our community through our programs and events.

Keep an eye out for upcoming announcements about our Lunar New Year function in February, Health Summit in March, and APAHM celebrations in May!

Ceremonial Swearing-In Acknowledgements

Last night we had the honor of hosting the Ceremonial Swearing-In for the

AA & NH/PI and CAPAC Members of the 118th Congress. Thank you to our speakers: House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Democratic Caucus Vice Chairman and Whip of CAPAC Ted Lieu, and CAPAC Chair Judy Chu; the Honorable Florence Y. Pan from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, for administering the Oath of Office; our emcee Aimee Cho from NBC4 Washington; our wonderful attendees; and all the staff and volunteers who worked diligently to make this event a success.

Press Release

Congratulations to Sonali Desai and Moh Sharma for their new roles in House Leadership offices! Desai will serve as the Executive Director of the House Democratic Caucus, and Sharma, a former APAICS Fellow, will serve as Director of Member Services for House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

We applaud House Leadership on their commitment to hiring diverse staff, and look forward to seeing even more growth in the future!

Health & Safety Resources

APAICS has partnered with the Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF) to curate and disseminate the most updated COVID-19 and influenza resources created for and by the Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (AA & NH/PI) communities. These resources include guides and FAQs on COVID-19 and influenza transmission, prevention, and vaccinations and are available in multiple AA & NH/PI languages.

Confused about paying for your flu vaccine? Check out the cost guide at which has been translated in over 30 Asian and NH/PI languages.
