APAICS' Inaugural Energy Summit

The inaugural APAICS Energy Summit is taking place on July 13 and July 21, 2021. The event will be held online from 2-5 pm ET. The Summit will bring together industry and community leaders alongside Asian American and Pacific Islander Members of Congress to discuss top-line energy concerns that are affecting the nation and the AAPI community at large.

Our Women's Collective Office Hours Series gives AAPI women interested in running for office or working on a campaign the opportunity to meet and talk to AAPI elected officials.
For our 3rd installment in our Women's Collective Office Hours Series, we will be featuring Chapel Hill Town Council Member Hongbin Gu. Council Member Gu is a faculty member at the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Medicine and was elected to Town Council in 2017. Our 2021 Summer intern cohort consists of Congressional interns placed on Capitol Hill and Office interns who support the work of APAICS. Their commitment to public service and AAPI political engagement brought them to APAICS and we hope that their internship experiences will empower them on their public service journeys.

Fall 2021 Congressional Internship and 2022 Racial Equity Fellowship

If you are currently an undergraduate student interested in working on Capitol Hill, apply to our Fall 2021 Congressional Internship program! Our Fall 2021 interns will work in-person for 8-weeks in both a Congressional host office and the United Parcel Service (UPS) government affairs office in Washington, D.C. Interns will work in the UPS office 1 day per week and in a Congressional office the remaining days of the week for a minimum of 32 hours per week.

If you are a working professional or a recent graduate interested in the legislative process, apply to our 2022 Congressional Racial Equity Fellowship! The APAICS Congressional Fellowship is designed for young AAPI professionals looking to increase their experience in public policy and service. The full-time paid, 9-month program places fellows in Congressional offices to gain policy experience as part of the legislative team.
Racial Equity fellows will research and analyze community-based recommendations along with key public policy initiatives that affect economic opportunity, structural racism, and health equity. In addition to working in a Congressional host office, Racial Equity fellows will host policy briefings on Capitol Hill and at the 2022 APAICS Legislative Leadership Summit to address social justice reform and its implications as it relates to the AAPI community. 2022 Racial Equity Fellowship Program Dates: December 2021 – August 2022 Program Duration: 9 months Location: Washington, D.C. Legislative Leadership Academy

The APAICS Legislative Leadership Academy is a training program for AAPI mid-senior level legislative staffers to hone their leadership skills, deepen their confidence, and strengthen relationships to more effectively position themselves and pursue senior management roles in legislative offices. This year's program will run from October – December, 2021.
The program consists of:
3 highly interactive weekend sessions. Each session is 6 hours total and takes place over the course of 2 days.
6 hours of one-on-one coaching with a certified executive coach for each program participant.

Applications must be submitted by July 30th, 2021 at 11:59 PM. If you are a former or current Legislative Director, Chief of Staff, or other senior level legislative staffer, you can nominate candidates for the program here.
Women's Collective Leadership Academy

The APAICS Women's Collective Leadership Academy (WCLA) is a two-day leadership training event tailored specifically for AAPI women candidates and the additional considerations they need to account for as they pursue elected office. Held the same week as APAICS' annual Women's Collective Summit, the WCLA aims to inspire and equip AAPI women to run for office.

2021 Women's Collective Summit

We are pleased to announce that registrations for our 3rd annual Women's Collective are now open! This year we will convene on August 12, 2021 under the theme "The Power of She" in recognition that the time for AAPI women to run, win, and lead is now.
The Women’s Collective aims to build a community that inspires and supports AAPI women to become politically engaged by leading the national conversation on AAPI women representation in politics, uplifting AAPI women in politics, creating resources and tools for AAPI women to increase representation in public service, and to connect leaders and stakeholders.

This year's summit will cover a variety of topics ranging from "How to ask a woman to run for office" to "Staying healthy on and off the campaign trail." Register now to hear from AAPI women elects and the leading voices from the movement to increase women's representation in government.
